🔥 IGNITE – Pre-16 Pathway
IGNITE is a specialist pre-16 programme designed to re-engage learners with education and rebuild their confidence, motivation, and future direction.
Created for young people who may be struggling in a traditional classroom environment, IGNITE provides a structured, supportive setting where learners can work towards a recognised vocational qualification (NVQ) while continuing their core school education.
Learners attend Renu Training alongside their school timetable, giving them access to practical, hands-on learning that connects education to real-world career pathways. Schools may also use IGNITE as a Year 10 and 11 vocational option, offering an alternative route that has proven highly effective for learners who thrive in applied learning environments.
With smaller groups, personalised support, and a focus on engagement, IGNITE helps learners rediscover their strengths, develop employability skills, and build a positive pathway into post-16 education, training, or employment.
IGNITE isn’t about taking learners away from education — it’s about helping them reconnect, refocus, and move forward with confidence.
We support schools across Shropshire and Telford either within the school itself or in one of our training academies, delivering a variety of courses to young people who find full time mainstream education a challenge.
The number of schools we support across Shropshire and Telford is currently 21. We support with entry level 3 Qualifications in Hair and Beauty, Construction and Vehicle Maintenance.
Alongside the schools and local authorities we also support private care providers who need vocational education for their young adults.
Our Hair and Beauty Qualification is regulated by VTCT Skills and is an Entry Level 3 Qualification which covers Presenting a professional image, Introduction to the hair and beauty sector as well as Manicure, Nail art, Shampoo and Condition and Plait and twisting hair.
Entry level 3 preparing for further learning or employment covers both construction and vehicle maintenance. The mandatory unit for both is preparing for further learning or employment and then within construction learners will cover a selection of either Bricklaying, Carpentry, Tiling, Painting and Decorating or Plastering. From the Vehicle Maintenance suite of qualifications learners will cover a selection of Vehicle engines, Vehicle exhaust systems or Vehicle lubrication. These are both regulated by NOCN.
